Bipartisan legislation that would remove financial barriers to prostate cancer screening was introduced today in the U.S. Senate. Sponsored by Senators John Boozman (R-AR) and Cory Booker (D-NJ), the Prostate-Specific Antigen Screening for High-risk Insured Men (PSA Screening for HIM) Act would waive cost-sharing requirements such as deductibles, copayments and coinsurance, for prostate cancer screening tests for men with the highest risk of prostate cancer, including Black men and those with a family history of the disease.

Washington, D.C. – 24 de enero de 2025 – Hoy, grupos defensores de los derechos de los pacientes que representan a millones de personas con enfermedades graves y afecciones médicas presentaron un informe (en inglés) amicus curiae (amigo de la corte) en el que instaron al Tribunal de Apelaciones del Octavo Circuito a que respalde la elegibilidad de los beneficiarios del programa de Acción Diferida para los Llegados en la Infancia (DACA, por sus siglas en inglés) a la cobertura de seguros de salud, tal y como lo permite la Regla Final del Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos (HHS, por sus siglas en inglés) emitida en mayo de 2024.
