Frankfort, KY – January 23, 2019 – As lawmakers dive into the new year, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is asking that legislators support legislation that will ease the burden of cancer in Kentucky.
Today a federal judge ruled the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) failed to adequately consider how Kentucky’s proposed Medicaid work rules would effect residents’ access to health care as required under federal law.

More than 100 Kentuckians traveled to Frankfort today to urge legislators to reduce smoking-related cancer deaths by increasing Kentucky’s cigarette tax by $1 or more per pack. The visit was part of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s annual Day at the Capitol.
