It Is Past Time to Break the Cycle of Tobacco Addiction

As the Governor is drafting his budget proposal and lawmakers identify their appropriations priorities as part of the 2024 legislative session, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) calls for increased funding for the state tobacco control program and an increase in the state’s tobacco taxes, to ease the burden of tobacco and cancer in West Virginia.

Wisconsin Should Make It Easier to Quit Tobacco

Elected officials across the state must preserve our smokefree workplace protections and do more to support residents of Wisconsin who want to quit using tobacco products, say cancer patients, survivors, and advocates who are marking the American Cancer Society’s 48th annual Great American Smokeout® this Thursday. The Great American Smokeout is a day for people who use tobacco to create a plan to quit.

ACS CAN apoya la campaña “Empoderar a la juventud libre de vapeo” de los CDC

Esta semana, la Oficina de Tabaquismo y Salud (OSH, por sus siglas en inglés) de los Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades (CDC) lanzó una nueva campaña, "Empower Vape-Free Youth" (Empoderar a la juventud libre de vapeo), cuyo objetivo es capacitar a los educadores para que hablen con los jóvenes sobre los riesgos asociados con los cigarrillos electrónicos y la adicción a la nicotina y alentar a los jóvenes a evitar y/o dejar los cigarrillos electrónicos.
