Help More Californians Get Screened for Breast and Cervical Cancer

The Every Woman Counts (EWC) and The Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP) provide screening, diagnostic services and treatment for breast and cervical cancer for those who are underinsured or uninsured.

Starting January 1 st , Carlsbad will enforce a new law prohibiting smoking, including e-cigarettes and cannabis, in and around multi-unit buildings with three or more residential units, except for outdoor designated spaces.

The Oakland City Council passed a smoke-free ordinance to prohibit smoking in multi-unit housing and bar patios; however, the ordinance exempts smoking cannabis in multi-unit housing.

In an effort to save lives from lung cancer, the State Legislature passed Assembly Concurrent Resolution 196 last July to designate November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month and Saturday, November 9th, as Lung Cancer Screening Day.

Gov. Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1775 today. The legislation will allow cities and counties to permit cannabis consumption sites to prepare and sell food and beverages that do not contain cannabis, effectively turning them into restaurants where smoking is allowed.
